We are seeking a well-rounded and driven Structural Engineer in the Mumbai Office. The Power Division focuses on power generating facilities which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Job Profile: Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices but may involve a variety of complex features. Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties. May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments. The position will require extensive interface with equipment suppliers/vendors, and with Burns & McDonnell project managers, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailers locally in the Mumbai office as well as remotely in various offices in the United States. Additional responsibilities include: + Perform and check routine/complex calculations and designs using computer-aided and manual design techniques. + Design of equipment foundations (Static & Dynamic ) + Structural steel design for pipe racks and other power plant structures. + Coordinate project design assignments and design teams. + Develop scope of work, conceptual design, and execution plans. + Preparing engineering cost and person-hour estimates and schedules. + Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced staff members. + Travel to the United States as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs. + Demonstrate progressive experience in design and project management responsibilities. + Develop design scopes, prepare project budgets, and execute projects while meeting schedule requirements and maintaining established budgets. + Apply extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments. + Interpret complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions. + Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications + Bachelor’s or Master's degree in civil/structural engineering from accredited program. + Minimum 6-12 years of related experience. + Software proficiency includes RISA-3D, RISA Foundation, Ram Connection, STAAD.Pro, Navisworks and/or Smart Plant Review. + Excellent written & verbal communication, as well as strong analytical & problem-solving skills, are required. + Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. + Previous consulting engineering experience in power industry is preferred.
