This opportunity offers an entry-level position designed to build foundational engineering expertise while contributing meaningfully to project success. Under the supervision of registered engineers, you will engage with multidisciplinary teams to execute critical tasks including drawing production, engineering calculations, and equipment selection tailored to mechanical systems in building projects. This role provides immersive exposure to the full project lifecycle, fostering development in areas such as project cost evaluation, design constructability, and design coordination. You will gain hands-on experience in contract administration and learn to collaborate effectively across various engineering and architectural disciplines. As the Mechanical Engineer 1, here is the work you'll do: Develop and modify detailed engineering drawings using advanced CADD, BIM, and Revit software platforms, ensuring precise representation of mechanical systems. Conduct various engineering calculations related to load analysis, static pressure regain, and energy efficiency to support design decisions and optimize system performance. Select and schedule fundamental mechanical equipment such as fans, Variable Air Volume (VAV) units, and grille registers (GRD), applying engineering principles and manufacturer specifications. Assist in construction phase activities encompassing contract administration tasks including preparing and reviewing submittals, managing Requests for Information (RFIs), and offering technical construction support to ensure project specifications are met. Collaborate closely with senior engineering personnel, providing support on diverse assignments and contributing to the overall project workflow and quality assurance. Engage in interdisciplinary coordination meetings to harmonize mechanical designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines for seamless project integration. Participate in continuous learning initiatives to expand understanding of industry standards, compliance requirements, and emerging mechanical engineering technologies. This role is for you if you have these skills: Proficient in interpreting, analyzing, and applying building blueprints, mechanical schematics, and technical drawings to support design and implementation tasks. Capability to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance if role duties require, reflecting a commitment to confidentiality and security protocols. Strong communication skills enabling you to present technical concepts and design ideas effectively through drawings, renderings, and other visual exhibits during client interactions and team discussions. Demonstrated ability to coordinate interdisciplinary efforts by engaging with engineering and architectural teams both within the organization and externally, fostering cooperative project development. Willingness and aptitude to receive direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback from senior engineers and colleagues to enhance technical skills and job performance. Adaptability to work within a team-oriented environment and commit to continuous improvement aligned with company goals and client expectations. And if you have these qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, demonstrating foundational knowledge in engineering principles. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is recognized and valued, supporting advanced theoretical and practical understanding. Open to candidates at the entry-level stage with 0+ years of experience, emphasizing a commitment to learning and professional growth. In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $73,760.00 - 110,640.00 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
