Description

The Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Master Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of industrial / commercial electrical equipment and systems. This position will be responsible for following the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work.      The Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician with basic tasks  Complete Maintenance work orders on electrical equipment.  Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.  Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.    Up-dates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.        Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals   Must be reliable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.  Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.  Basic computer knowledge is required.  Must be 18 years of age or older.      2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred  Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes          Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes.  Travel requirements: up to 10% of time.
