Description Position Summary: The Welding Engineer is responsible for providing welding engineering, metallurgy, fabrication, inspection, and quality assurance support for equipment and materials procured for EPC projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, LNG, Power, and Infrastructure sectors. The role involves review and approval of welding-related documentation, supplier surveillance, welding procedure qualification, metallurgy assessments, fabrication oversight, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with applicable project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Candidate should have relevant Industry experience like oil & gas, refineries, petroleum industries, power projects,Infrastructure, etc. 2. Develop and review welding requirements for Static, Rotary, Piping and Packaged items based on Tech specification and Code Requirement 3. Independently Conduct Kick-off- meeting & pre-fabrication meeting and welding readiness reviews. 4. Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ), NDE procedures, PWHT procedures, heat treatment procedures, and fabrication methodologies. 5. Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure appropriate welding and quality hold points are established. 6. Provide technical guidance on welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, PAW, and other applicable welding methods. 7. Should be familiar with ASME Sec VIII Div 1 & 2,ASME Sec IX/Sec V/Sec II/API 610/AWS D1.1/API RP 582/API934 8. Support engineering and procurement teams in material selection, weldability assessment, joining technologies, and fabrication methods. 9. Evaluate welding consumables, filler metals, material compatibility, and welding procedures for various metallurgy combinations. 10. Provide technical expertise for Carbon Steel (CS), Low Alloy Steel (LAS), Stainless Steel (SS), Duplex Stainless Steel, Super Duplex, Nickel Alloys, Chrome-Moly, Clad Materials, and other specialty alloys. 11. Assess material properties, corrosion considerations, heat treatment requirements, and metallurgical risks during fabrication. 12. Investigate material-related manufacturing issues and recommend corrective actions. 13. Evaluate supplier welding capabilities, personnel qualifications, equipment, and welding quality systems. 14. Perform supplier technical audits focused on welding controls, fabrication processes, and quality assurance systems. 15. Witness or Verify critical Inspection at domestic and international supplier facilities. 16. Coordinate with client/contractor/vendor for project quality related activities. 17. Identifies quality problems, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions for effectiveness. 18. Establish and maintain implementation of the Lesson Learned program and capture new lessons during the execution of project. 19. Prepare reports/presentation for project management reviews. 20. Independently handle Supplier Quality Assignment 21. Lead or participate in welding failure investigations, nonconformance analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). 22. Prepare/Support for Inspection Report and Final Inspection Release. 23. Provide technical training and mentoring to inspection, quality, engineering, and procurement personnel on welding and metallurgy topics. Qualifications + Candidate should be flexible for domestic/International deputation and for short travel to supplier shops. Flexible to work in evening hours for meetings with International supplier and US counterparts + AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) + International Welding Engineer (IWE),AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI),CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2,ASNT Level II or III + Bachelor of Engineering degree + 12-15 years of experience This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
